Who is Beckham Ridge Ministries?
Beckham Ridge Ministries (BRM) is a faith based organization dedicated to the support and development of children’s ministries for children who have been abandoned, abused and/or neglected. BRM was formed in 2012 and later that same year received a 501c3 tax status. BRM has no paid staff and operates from a donated office space. BRM is operated by a group of Christian volunteers whose focus is the emotional healing, salvation and empowerment of children in foster care.

Since 2013 we have pursued this goal
with our Christian camping program "Camp 10:14" ( formerly known as Royal Family Kids Camp). Each year we bring foster children from the Northcentral Arkansas area to this resident summer camping program which is specifically designed to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of abused and neglected children. Since its beginning in 2013 Camp 10:14 has impacted the lives of several hundred foster children. |
The small group format of Camp 10:14 (4 kids and 2 counselors to a team) helps develop a trusting relationship between the children and the counselors while modeling a family like atmosphere. Likewise, the small group format will be beneficial to the Life Skills training. Until now we have rented a camp facility near Heber Springs spending about half of our annual budget on it. Unfortunately like most summer camps, it is set up with larger dorm type cabins that do not lend themselves well to the small team format. The smaller groups help to develop camper/mentor relationships and provide an atmosphere where the campers can open up and engage in meaningful conversations with the mentors who are there to help guide them.
By constructing our own camp, we can design it to meet our needs and operate it for about one third of what we are spending on rent now. This will free up resources to apply to new programs that will benefit more children. We will also be able to provide the facility for little or no cost to other children’s programs that align with the mission of BRM.
The new campground is under construction on donated land near Mountain View, Arkansas at this time with two cabins completed and a third cabin started.
